Water Taste & Order
The District is experiencing some minor taste and odor issues with the potable water supply. These issues are a result of trace amounts of total organic carbon and the high temperatures that the District is experiencing. This is an unfortunate limitation associated with our existing water system. There is currently no evidence that there are negative health effects associated with the taste and odor. The operations crew have increased dosages of activated carbon and are flushing some water mains in an effort to reduce the effects. Given the current temperature trend, the taste and odor issues should be resolved in the next few weeks.
